Credentials

Here is a summary of why I might be suitable for you as a tutor.

Mathematics: Core Curriculum

• In undergrad I earned straight As in multivariable calculus as a freshman. I have a Master of Science (MS) degree in mathematics as well.
• I am strongest at analysis, particularly Real and Functional, which is the content of the first volume of the trilogy that I am slowly writing. I can also help with linear and abstract algebra at the undergrad level (I passed qualifying exams in both Algebra and Analysis in my masters).
• Before college I scored: 800 on the SAT Math section (total score was 2270/2400), 800 on both Math I and Math II Subject Tests, 5 on AP Calculus BC.
• Math-adjacent: I can help you with AP-level computer science material (I took multiple CS classes in undergrad, including Algorithms and Data Structures). It is nice to know how to read code, especially when most of the generated stuff nowadays can have, um, surprises within.
• I am beginning to familiarize myself with Regents level Algebra I / Geometry / Algebra II topics (my reference is those "Let's Review" books), due to the possibility of me teaching in the classroom come Fall 2027.

Mathematics: Contests and Olympiads

• I was an AMC School Champion at a competitive prep school in Westchester (RCDS), and attended ARML + HMMT November for fun.
• I honestly do not have much experience with USAMO/JMO tier material. If you want to make MOP, please look for someone more qualified than me. However, if you propose an argument or approach to a specific problem, I'll likely be able to determine soundness / veracity in a reasonable amount of time, and I'm always open to open-ended conceptual questions, as contest problems often reference ideas from the standard undergraduate and graduate curriculum.
• I scored 11 on the Putnam Competition as a sophomore in undergrad.

Bonus: Chess and Latin

• I earned full marks on the intro level National Latin Exam.
• My chess is sufficiently competent to guide you through the land of beginnings: basic tactics, sound opening strategy, simple checkmate patterns. In particular I should be helpful at the scholastic level up to about ~1200 USCF; after that you'll probably benefit from a dedicated chess coach.
• Besides proficiency in Latin, I also study Attic Greek and a bit of Classical Sanskrit.

• Integration Techniques Tutorial. One way to handle trig substitution is to avoid it entirely.
• Partial Fractions Endurance. Because sometimes the clever trick is to just sit down and compute.
• Notice that 1+1 = 2. Go ahead, try the normal AP Calculus convergence tests on this one.
